Elder Jonas Gridley's mission

  Well for starters we have had a great week and many great lessons with the people who are progressing. Harvest season is almost here it's super exciting. I've seen my time working doing customer support help it's pretty cool makes me happier to be here and excites me.  I've had lots of time to learn to do my best to grin and bear it. Still, working on the while forgetting myself, and if that's the case to what extent? Still growing it's really good so happy to be here. LIttle refiners heat and fire molding me for my bright future so excited to be here before I know it.  Saturday we got our transfer new! Super cool the zone leaders put together a funny video that told everyone what their news was. Got some Frito chips the ones that are scoops it's great made that for dinner while we served at the food bank it is great!  We honestly don't know how the food bank fund like when we are there we are super busy and the workers just wander off and do other things like we just do a ton and don't see things getting done if we weren't there just not near as fast it is just interesting but I love serving there. There's a guy who works there that occasionally will cuss and be like oops and just correct himself I'm assuming to be respectful it is nice of him. Last week we were talking about like getting something to drink it was hot he was like oh in the cooler there's lots of stuff and talked about Mtn dew and he's like oh wait there's caffeine. Anyways I was like oh we can have caffeine and hours later I was like...

  Well sorry, folks I've just sucked at Emailing so that's totally my bad. I'm going to try to do better but here we are :)  Me and Elder Wilkinson have been practicing our backflips so will keep you posted on how that's going can't exactly land on our feet yet but we are definitely getting better we just go in the backyard on the grass to practice so yeah that's fun not dangerous haha. And don't worry we spot each other it's all good.  One of our super old friends named Catherine has covid and we lost contact for like 3 weeks so it was really good to call and talk with her she's the biggest sweetheart ever super awesome woman who loves God and us missionaries so that's super cool! Had a great lesson with one of our friends named Kathy shes pretty close to baptize we will see what happens next week with her and help her just kinda decide she will either join and be super strong or just deny it but I trust that she's felt the spirit and knows ...

Transfers! haha I live to see another transfer. So a fun safe work I've made with missionaries to say I'm in danger or just basically my comps driving me nuts is Mancalla haha it's just funny that's a thing lol.  Anyways, My new companion is Elder Wilkinson. He has moved around a lot but lived in Logan for a long little while so he's cool. We both have curly hair and have lots of other things in common. We both liked swing dancing and just have a good time around each other. He loves music and likes to make his own just like a friend I know back home IFYKYK. But it's cool, not annoying yet we are cool. It's nice just to tell each other at the start to be open and honest when things bother each other so  there's never big things just get small things out of the way so they never become big things.   Sorry for not sending the email last week I forgot entirely so that's my B.   From a man with a guy to a friend being baptized it's been a busy lovely week! I'll have you know to whomever it may concern I rarely if ever find myself scared as a missionary. Tuesday we were walking around doing some knocking and were on our way back home. When walking on the road headed back home we heard someone in their backyard going into an ally where some cars were and his fence made a lot of noise and that's why we looked over. Well, we saw a man holding a rifle of some sort we made eye contact as we walked and then he walked back into his yard. It was interesting. Didn't phase me hardly at just kept walking could have been different but that was fun. So the funniest thing we had this week was going up to Hampton. Now, why would we have done this? Well, Rebecca, our friend in Hampton I helped teach was getting baptized Saturday and I asked President if we could go he said we would if we had the miles.   Howdy folks so this week we had to kinda just find things to eat we didn't go get groceries last Pday because we didn't make the time and felt like we would be fine and we were but it was very nice to go and just restock!  Thanks for all the Birthday wishes very kind and so interesting to be here away from family for a birthday that's a first. I hit 6 months today! Super cool I've learned so much and grown a lot, just super happy to be here very content with how things have helped me get here. I had an opportunity to look back on a lot of things that helped me get here on a mission and well none of it was easy not at all but the things I learned have helped me out here so much I was able to relate super well to someone who is a member just going through some hard things and it was interesting to look back on how I overcame the things that seemed to control me and just helped answer their questions.   Well well well I've had a great week! Went by much faster than last week for whatever reason. So today (the 4th) we went to the beach for district Pday and had a blast we went out to the outer banks I got a nice hoodie because I need one out here for whenever I might need it haha. At the beach, I collected a lot of shells and just enjoyed it. I brought a jacket but didn't want to put it on haha everyone else was wearing warm clothes I refused it was about 55 degrees and the sun was out so it wasn't too bad but it was so fun.  For General Conference, we went to a member's house for the Saturday sessions we just watched the first two and in between went out finding it was sweet. We ate dinner there and they had a Jesus dinner with us had lentils and all sorts of food Jesus had super fun. The Starkey family who we visited with have so many GC traditions its super fun had a blast over there all day.  I'm not usually the best with my time especially for working out so ...
