Elder Jonas Gridley's mission

  What a fun week we had. We had our best week of finding the whole transfer so that went awesome! I've been out a year and still dread giving training and leading spiritual discussions and the one I did this week went okay.     Blanche is still working towards baptism and she should be getting baptized Saturday! Whammo, I'm excited for her. She loves the ward and is just a sweet old lady who loves to talk a lot.     Brenna our recent convert has joined us on a few lessons with Blanche and she enjoys them it's awesome she's a great missionary already. Zach and Brenna two ward members go to the same school and they are trying to share the gospel a lot they have out 3 Books of Mormon last week so that's awesome.   Tram a person who's been coming to church but speaks Vietnamese is having lessons over zoom with other Elders in California and they put her on a date after the first lesson so that's super cool.   Okay, so this week's been kinda crazy. We got locked out of our apartment for the morning by leaving our keys inside so we had to wait till people could show up with some keys to get inside for a couple hours kinda annoying but it happens. It was the one time I didn't ask if Elder Viehweg had the keys oh well.  Blanche is on a date for the 19th of November so we are excited for her and happy to help her get there. She seems ready and like she's already a part of the church. Transfer news is next Saturday so we are looking forward to seeing what happens.  Jeff down in Elizabeth City could be baptized this weekend or super soon I'll only be able to watch a zoom when that happens I can't go. Pretty bummed about that but really hope it happens for Jeff.  The farm is so fun every Saturday we go and get dirty running around fixing stuff up and it's a blast I love the whips still. They have a calf that's rejected by the herd and it hangs out pretty fun forget pet...

  Happy Halloween I'd love to see everyone who dresses up send me a picture I'd love that. This last week has been good, we got to serve at the farm again and that was fun we where taking down and installing new fence posts so that was nice. We have still been meeting with Blanche whos still on date to be baptised but it will have to be moved back because she missed church this Sunday thats to bad.     We had what seemed to be really close to a thanksgiving dinner at a members it was super good food nice steak and potatos thought the mashed potatos weren't as good as back homes.     We did about 2 and a half hours of biking on Friday that was fun we tried to visit a lot of people and it was eh. Not a lot of people home or having the time to talk to us so that was a bummer but we know now for sure we are capable of lots and lots of biking.      We had an exchange this week it was so fun.   Hello everyone who's still taking the time to read this far. It's been a pretty good last two weeks kinda didn't write last week my bad. Let me go ahead and catch you up Brenna someone we were teaching is baptized her baptism was on Saturday it was amazing she's very ready and we are super happy for her she's seen lots of little miracles in her life leading up to this. So that's an amazing thing that's gone on over here.  We have another friend on a date for the 12th of November we hope we can keep that date and help her get there her name is Blanche. Okay just a heads up the hardest part of my emails is thinking of a subject line or a quote to use. I hope I make it all 2 years! I hit 1 year tomorrow! I truly have loved my mission being able to serve and grow so so much. I'm glad a have a full year left and I'm going to make the most of it.     Transfer news I'm no longer in Elizabeth city and I can't say I'm to displeased about that. It was a long 7 and a half months. We are over in Virginia Beach now and its lovely! We have a really good ward and someone we are working with already heading towards baptism. Her name is Brenna pray for her to have the courage to follow the spirit. She came to church that was awesome shes had backlash from friends about meeting with us but she actually had them back off and just let her do what she wants and she said that was a miracle so thats so cool.     Biking to church in suits is a new thing.   Sorry this is better late than never. I am leading Elizabeth City and going up to Providence Virginia in Virginia Beach! All in the southern part of my mission. Ive been here for 7.5 months in Elizabeth City so in very ready for a change.     My new companion is actually Elder Viehweg who's in Elizabeth City also but isn't my comp so that fun. I'm looking forward to the other area it's a biking area just not looking forward to the cold again just in time for biking.   Hello, again friends and family. This week has been great we had 2 exchanges that were fun. We had one with the zone leaders and I enjoyed it thought it was really weird. There was this woman that was super weird that we actually ran into last exchange up in the zone leaders area. She read the restoration pamphlet and was like Melkezidec I am/have that it was weird. She was all about the energies and people and was just super sketchy though she tries to be a good person. One of the missionaries was like you can't handle my light that's why you can't make eye contact super weird. Fun story though.     Played disc golf for the first time! That was pretty fun. I did the worst in the group though it was my first time. On the other exchange, I got a net for fishing and catching frogs and turtles.
